Philosophy & Faith

Christian Stoicism

"I see no contradiction between Jerusalem and Athens. For me, Stoicism's focus on character and reason is the practical foundation upon which Christianity's hope and love are built."

01

Logos & Christ

The Stoics believed in Logos as the world's reason. As a Christian, I see Christ as the incarnate Logos (John 1:1). To live in accordance with nature is to live in Christ.

02

Providence & Trust

Amor Fati (love your fate) transforms into deep trust in Divine Providence. We don't just accept what happens; we embrace it as part of God's will for our lives.

03

The Inner Citadel

The Kingdom of God is 'within you'. Stoicism's 'inner citadel' is that sacred space where the soul meets God, untouched by the storms of the world.

04

Virtue & Grace

Stoicism teaches us to strive for virtue. Christianity teaches us that we fail, yet are saved by grace. Virtue is not the end in itself, but the fruit of the Spirit.

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference."
— Reinhold Niebuhr (Serenity Prayer)
